DeSantis to remove liquor license from Florida hotel after it hosts drag show with kids present

Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis is revoking remove the liquor license of a Miami hotel that had association with the James L. Knight Center that hosted a drag show where children were present.

The Hyatt Regency Miami reportedly allowed the show despite being warned by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation not to do so.

"Therefore, the department is revoking the venue’s license for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages," the department wrote in a statement. "Sexually explicit content is not appropriate to display to children and doing so violates Florida law. ... Governor DeSantis stands up for the innocence of children in the classroom and throughout Florida."

During the show, performers revealed their prosthetic breasts and genitals, simulated masturbation and showed "graphic depictions of childbirth and/or abortion," according to a complaint filed by the department.
