Georgia State Senator-elect Colton Moore is issuing a call to his state’s GOP delegation to Congress, urging them to vote against establishment leader Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of the House. Opposition to McCarthy’s speakership campaign has continued to swell following the “pink trickle” midterms, and conservatives say he doesn’t have the 218 votes he needs to secure the gavel.
“The next Speaker of the House needs to be prepared to take on the rogue Biden regime headfirst with a plan to secure our southern border, combat inflation, and stop the violence in our streets,” says Senator-elect Moore, a rising star conservative who was first elected to Georgia’s State House of Representatives in 2018, at age 24.
“We need a leader we can trust who will openly commit to ending two Nancy Pelosi-era House rules,” Moore went on, before explaining how Kevin McCarthy and his supporters have embraced the dictatorial House rules set by Nancy Pelosi.
“First, the next Speaker needs to bring back the motion to vacate the Speaker. Pelosi got rid of this century-old rule because she knew her leadership would be challenged by those who are paying attention. Bringing back the motion will restore power back to the people’s representatives and give them the power to call into question and illegitimate Speaker.”
